XP Loading is slower

A slow boot usually is caused by too many programs starting at boot and running in the background. This can be controlled:
Click on Start> Run> type in msconfig' without the quites> enter> Selective Start-ups> Startup tab> uncheck everything except the anti-virus program, firewall if you have one, appoint if you have laptop and network process if you have network set up< Apply> OK> Reboot
Close out the nag message that comes up after checking 'don't show this message any more". That should you better performance.
