BSOD (Machine_Check_Exception) 9C, {4, 805461f0, b2000000, 70f0f}

Hello,

My Problem
I am start getting BSOD since last week. It happen randomly, where ever may be, in Safe Mode, Bootup screen, dekstop idle, playing games. The STOP message I get is MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION - BugCheck 9C, {4, 805461f0, b2000000, 70f0f}.

What I have tried
  • I have 2 * 512MB RAM. I had try to take out 1 of them and test, but BSOD still happen no matter which RAM i plug in, no matter which slot i used.
  • I plug out my DVD drive. So now it left CPU, PSU, mobo, Graphic card, RAM and HDD running.
  • At beginning I thought is driver / s/w problem. So I uninstall nvidia IDE driver, run chkdsk, scan C drive with kapersky anti virus.
  • Lastly, I narrow down my problem and I confident that the problem is on h/w. I open my side panel and blow with Fan and play game. While it is blow with Fan, no BSOD happen. Then I switch off my fan for awhile, BSOD happen again.

My Question
I need to narrow down which part of my h/w is overheating or fault. May anyone help me or guide me? Thanks in advanced.

ps:I have attach my miniDump result that debug using WInDbg. Sorry for poor grammar. If need any details that I miss out please tell me.

Does your PC always crashes with bugcheck code 9C? Can you attach all the debug reports here? Intel CPU has overheat protection and AMD CPU does not have overheat protection. What CPU are you using?

All the minidump is same... same code same report...
And I found out that if stop using Fan to cooling my Casing side panels. BSOD happen.
Any idea? I know sure is some overheat already.. But I use everest to see the temperature. CPU, Graphic Card, HDD all normal temp, no overheat... weird.
You can see my System specs.

Bugcheck code 4 70f0f means generic time out and there have a lot of possibilty cause this problem. Overheat is one of the possibility. Review the following case

Thanks for the info cpc2004.

I have not make any new changes on h/w and s/w.
Yesterday night I go clean my CPU, try to clear all the dust and I think I have screw up my PC.

I suspect My mobo is dead.
When I start my power button. No beep sound, all fan running, mobo (msi) fan slowly running/ stop running, monitor black screen.

Thanks everyone here for helping me. But I just screw up my pc more seriously.
I think I will left it there for few days then try again. If still same then I will take to IT shop already.

hi,

i registered for this forum just to provide my own insight and experience with a similar problem. it was really giving me a hard time so i hope someone else can benefit from it.

a few months back i was experiencing random lockups and blue screens. it was usually when i did something video intensive, but occasionally it would occur while surfing the web or just after boot up. my initial guess was the video card. i reinstalled drivers, reverted to old drivers, reseated it, but to no avail. i was able to confirm that it was not the ram or the hard drives either.

then the problems mysteriously disappeared for awhile. i didn't get any blue screens for months. but after i replaced my case, the errors reoccurred, but this time more frequently. i was getting DRIVER_IRQL, MACHINE_CHECK, and a page file blue screen.

i decided to reapply some thermal paste to the cpu. i noticed it was idling at above 60 degrees. after doing so, the blue screens immediately stopped showing up and the system actually runs quicker now.

keep in mind that my system is over five years old and i've never reapplied the paste up until now. i was always reluctant to do so, but it was the root of my problem all along.
