Help, can't get laptop to find wireless printer?

Hi,
I have a Toshiba laptop and just purchased a HP Photosmart wireless printer. My husband set it all up and we used it for awhile, then all of a sudden, when I went to print, I no longer saw the HP Photosmart on the list of printers to chose from. I've tried downloading the CD that came with it, but it keeps saying... Can not find printer. I have a linksys wireless connection, and i DO have a connection to the internet. WHen I go to control panel and printers, the Local Area Network has an X on it!? I'm thinking back, and maybe awhile ago, I was attempting to clean up my computer with all the software, deleting some of my son's games, etc, and may have deleted the W-LAN somewhere?! Can you help me put it back??
Thanks,
Jeannette from Jacksonville

Go here, and select Start detection

If this does not work then you will need to confirm your printer's IP address

If you do not know this you may need to refer to the manual, or do the following.

Press the wireless button on the printer
Then press the button that scrolls through the options
Until print configuration appears
Then print it
(the above is just an example - as I do not know your printer)

Now you can install the printer through Windows Printers

Go to Control Panel - Printers
Select add printer
Select a local printer (top one) and untick automatically detect
Next
Select create a new port
Select HP ...TCP/IP (if exists) If it doesn't exist select Standard TCP/IP
Next
Next
Printer Name: HP Photosmart
Port Name: (enter your IP address ie 192.168.0.1 <-note this is not it)
Next
And after this not sure - but it's probably: Next then Finish

Now print a test page to the new "HP Photosmart" printer, you just created

Did that work ?
