High memory = BSoD

Hi! I'm new here and I really need some help with this.

The problem started about 2 weeks ago. I tried downloading a video on half-life 2 map editing and suddenly, the BSoD appeared. Ever since then, I've been getting BSoDs whenever I perform a task repeatedly or use a memory intensive program. Right now I'm trying to play half-life 2 with low settings, but every 15 minutes or so, the blue screen appears.

I checked the event log and found the following error event that corresponded to the same time as my BSoDs appear:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Error code 10000050, parameter1 e1c8d000, parameter2 00000001, parameter3 bf04963f, parameter4 00000001.

Please help me solve the problem. My dad's already screwed me up and is blaming my game for it, which I only installed 3 days ago.

Thanks!

First thing you should do is click the paperclip icon above your reply, navigate to C:\Windows\Minidump\ and attach the last few minidumps.

The causes for the first error are many including infection have you ran microsoft update? go to www.update.microsoft.com to check for updates.

For the second error here is the microsoft article http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;888402

I think he is right to put the blame on your game. I think it is conflicting with something. Search for your problem http://support.steampowered.com/cgi-...er/std_alp.php
under product select your version of HL2

Delete all old files (Steam directory) and reinstall

Update all drivers for graphics and mobo chipsets

Edit: and from your dump =>
PROCESS_NAME: hl2.exe = This one should be obvious

IMAGE_NAME: ialmdev5.DLL = I am almost positive that this is the chipset driver for your mobo - intel chipset i think

I will check back later as I am pressed for time and didn't go through everything thoroughly

Gee! Thanks. Yes, it surely is something to do with hl2. I'll try those stuff that steam asked me to do.

I'll send you a reply once it works.

And thanks very much for your help and effort

Hey guys! It's finally working. I updated my graphics and found that a file was missing. So I uninstalled and reinstalled the whole thing and voila!

Thankyou guys for all the help and recommendation.
