No sound for anything on the internet, but offline programs work fine

Hi everyone, the title pretty much says it all...If I go to sites such as myspace to listen to music, the player says it's playing, yet there's no sound. When I play something out of iTunes or Media Player though, it works fine and I can hear it.

I've fiddled with all the settings I can find but can't seem to fix it. I'm pretty sure I'm overlooking something obvious, so i was hoping someone could point me in the direction of the problem.

Thanks heaps (in advance)!

Hi,

The Flash No Sound WaveMapper Solution seems to be authoritive.

It involves registry editing,so follow it to the letter.

Thanks heaps for that, it looks perfect. Problem is, I couldn't find the drivers32 location anywhere...that is, it wasn't in

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Drivers32

So I downloaded the general flash no sound registry fix but that doesn't seem to have worked either...does the absence of drivers32 have anything to do with do you think?

Cheers

I checked on my computer,and drivers32 is in -

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Drivers32

Do you see the subtle difference ?

There also a few more solutions at the bottom of HERE

Ohhh LEGEND!
Thanks so much, the msacm32.drv file had been quarantined (I'm currently getting rid of a trojan).

Thanks again and as a Bob Dylan fan I like your username!
