A smart, slick, and surprisingly polished 360 cam that rivals the best out there – and undercuts it on price too.

DJI’s first 360-degree camera should be a serious worry for every other player, especially Insta360. It's reasonably priced, it's top of the tree when it comes to the specs game, the device more than lives up to that in practice, and – for the most part – the apps have the polish of an established player too. Not just a brilliant first 360-degree camera, a new 'one to beat'.

With great all-round performance, a user-friendly design, solid companion apps and a temptingly affordable price, DJI’s debut 360 camera is an undeniably classy effort – and a strong challenger to sector leader Insta360 and its best-in-class X5. Despite the promise of its larger, square-shaped sensor, the Osmo 360 doesn’t outright beat the X5 on image quality, but for a first effort it’s extremely compelling, particularly for content creators who already own a DJI Mic 2 or Mic Mini.

As a 360 solution, it really is on a par with the competition, but what I really like here, and what sets it apart against the competitors, is the easy integration with other DJI products, most notably the DJI Mic 2, enabling you to create high-end content with superb visual and audio all within a single ecosystem and the invisible pole feature works incredibly well – but these are all features that the other market leaders already offer.

The new DJI Osmo 360 camera delivers vibrant, immersive – and occasionally surreal – footage with excellent stabilization and seamless stitching, while its compact build and user-friendly app make 360° shooting accessible for all levels. While premium-priced, this is a powerhouse tool for content creators who want reliable performance and creative freedom in an admittedly chunky but portable package.
