    Alienware 17 Edition 2014

Expert reviews and ratings

By PCAdvisor on May 19, 2014 80

The Alienware 17 isn't perfect - there's room for a higher-resolution display, and battery life is mediocre even when using integrated graphics. However, it's well suited to its role as a gaming rig, and proves that the new GeForce graphics do provide better performance and value for money than previous generations.

While you can get there for less, this gaming laptop is the express lane to high quality PC gaming.

It's not as much of a conversation piece as the tank-like Alienware 18, but the slimmer, lighter Alienware 17 is arguably more practical for serious gamers with realistic...

By PC Authority on October 04, 2013 83

Dell's Alienware brand has been the gold standard in big, bulky, ultrapowerful laptop design for many years. With distinctive styling, ostentatious lighting and an unashamed shirking of thin and light designs, Alienware's laptops are designed to...

By DigitalVersus on August 02, 2013 80

With such high-level graphics and processing capability, plus amazing sound quality, the Alienware 17 would have everything it needs in its arsenal to fully immerse gamers in their games. If only it weren't for the screen's colours, which are...

By PC Mag on July 25, 2013 80

The Alienware 17 is a little pricey, but it's a powerful imposing gaming rig that can be taken from room to room or to a friend's house. It will serve you well on the game...

By Computer Shopper on June 25, 2013 90

Sporting a fresh albeit familiar design and featuring the latest processor and graphics technology, the Alienware 17 is an excellent choice for a mid-range gaming notebook. Like most 17-inch gaming rigs, it's big and heavy....

By Engadget on September 16, 2013

It can be shockingly expensive if configured to the nines, however. In the end, we can say the new Alienware lineup is a strong follow-up to the last generation, with plenty of power for those who want it, and a fresh, modern design. That glowing trackpad is still a little weird, though.

By AnandTech on September 06, 2013

It's also incredibly expensive, but that shouldn't surprise anyone. Ultimately, if you can afford it, I still think the Alienware 17 is the gaming notebook you want. It's not the homerun the Alienware M17x R3 was when it launched, but it's a worthy descendant.

International Review By 01Net on September 20, 2013 80

Les inconditionnels de la marque adoreront cette nouvelle mouture de l'Alienware 17. Ergonomie repensée, écran Full HD mat, composants à la pointe... voilà de quoi combler les plus exigeants. Toutefois, pour le prix de 2300...

International Review By Les Numériques on July 26, 2013 80

La puissance - tant celle du processeur que celle de la partie graphique - et la qualité audio permettent à l'Alienware 17 d'immerger complètement son utilisateur dans n'importe quel jeu. Un point noir vient, en revanche,...
