Corsair’s Katar Elite Wireless mouse is a small step up, in specs from the previous generation — but it’s a steep step up in price.

From eSports to spreadsheets, the Corsair Katar Elite Wireless is a versatile beast. It’s light, fast, comfortable, extremely accurate and has very flexible connectivity options. While some gamers may want even more buttons or even more RGB, the Katar Elite is a little more focused and simple mouse, but one that is done to a very high standard.

The Corsair Katar Elite Wireless is a decent entry in to the lightweight, wireless gaming mouse space. It's competitively priced and feels very smooth with the stock PTFE feet. The build quality could be a little better but it's definitely not the worst we've ever seen.

Managing to look elegant yet gamer-cool, this new wireless mouse from Corsair isn’t just another entry in the lightweight mouse competition. It’s got an ambidextrous design and a native polling rate of 2,000Hz that sets it apart from the rest, even if it isn’t the lightest. It’s also more affordable. It’s not without faults, however – for example, its feet aren’t the ideal-for-all-surfaces kind.

Gaming, naturally, is where the latest Katar shines. Aim precision is excellent and I’ve enjoyed revisiting personal favourites such as Enlisted, where moving the scope from target to target amid massive battles is dead on and effortless. In World of Tanks, a slow but strategic game, where you can’t afford to miss a shot, Katar was yet again exemplary. All in all, a solid gaming mouse that should serve you well in games.
