Frostpunk is such a bizarre game. Playing through it mechanically and logistically leads to a relatively standard resource manager. However, by investing yourself in the town and the people within it, you allow in the crushing weight of the decisions you'll have to make and the emotional consequences that follow. They may not be affecting real people, but treating it as such is what this game is all about. It's an emotional roller coaster that will likely leave you more defeated after "winning" than when you first started, and that is incredible.
I'm a huge fan of post-apocalyptic scenarios. Be it Mad Max, Demolition Man, The Stand; I'm absolutely invested. When I first heard about Frostpunk coming to PCs a while back, and the fact that not only was that type of aftermath title, and being that...
I tell you what: Give me a zombie outbreak. Give me the water wars, alien invasions and machine uprisings. But don't for a second allow me to live in the worst possible apocalypse there is: A cold one. Imagine a future where mankind's greatest monuments...
Frostpunk is a solid entry into the city-builder genre with a unique survival twist, and one that's bound to appeal to those who have enjoyed similar games. Still, it lacks the personality and depth to win over anyone who doesn't already love...
Frostpunk is a unique strategy game that offers both an engaging and addicting element. Hours will go by as you are consumed into the doom-and-gloom of your city while trying to make sure people don’t die. The game is fairly linear in its premise, but offers unique situations that haven’t been seen in other city-building titles.

Frostpunk is a challenging city builder where your decisions have dramatic repercussions on the citizens you're tasked with looking after in a wintery apocalypse. It's a pleasant surprise that is definitely worth your time if you're looking for...
Despite the gameplay-slowing visual similarities between structures, Frostpunk overall is a wonderfully emotional and engaging city-builder strategy game that will challenge you with tough tasks and even tougher...
Even though the bleakness is palpable, Frostpunk is a captivating experience. The gameplay is unique and varied, using the best aspects of city-building and survival games, with a little exploration mixed in. The story is engrossing and can go in a...
Winter is nah I have to admit to suffering something of a disconnect reviewing Frostpunk. I started playing on what would go down in history as the hottest April 19 ever recorded in my country, The Netherlands. That by itself isnt all that...
Huddled together in a crater, they gather around their last hope against the cold--an aging steam generator. Fueled by coal, it can kick out just enough heat to give the last bastion of humanity a faint glimmer of hope. A moment like this illustrates...
Rarely does an interactive experience keep me awake at night wrestling with big decisions. Frostpunk did this on multiple occasions and made me feel squeamish when forcing edicts upon society instead of building consensus. Extraordinary circumstances call for desperate measures, and all I can do is ask for forgiveness from those trampled by my headstrong approach.
