My brother is a big fan of what I consider “B Tier” action movies. The kind that take themselves so seriously and tell a ham-fisted story with narrative gaps galore. But that's not what you're there for. You rented it to watch a badass mowing down an...
This is not a game for the faint of heart and some might even find its lack of taste, especially in later levels, appalling. But for those who appreciate nasty aesthetics as well as amusing-if-simplistic action, Mother Russia Bleeds is a fun time.
When I recall some of my fondest memories of gaming when I was young, one that comes to mind is how me and a friend of mine would beat Turtles in Time on SNES at least once a week.Sure, we were poor kids and didn't have many games to play at the time,...
There was a time when the beat'em up genre ruled the video game world. Back during the 90's arcade craze, games like Final Fight, TMNT, X-Men, and Double Dragon would draw groups of people for hours on end. Battling through hordes of enemies alongside...
Mother Russia Bleeds brings drug use, killing animals and women, and loads of gore to the beat'em up genre, but lacks originality and is riddled with...
Mother Russia Bleeds is probably the strangest 2D title since Dropsy, so if you’re the type of person who wants their pixel-art to be shocking, then this is the game for you. It’s a shame that so much of the moment-to-moment combat feels like an exercise in button-mashing, as there’s a weird dichotomy in such an interesting world playing host to somewhat uninteresting gameplay. Still, anyone looking for drug-induced 2D violence is going to have a hard time passing Mother Russia Bleeds up.
There is nothing subtle about Mother Russia Bleeds . Heads explode into clouds of pulp, riots erupt in city squares, and prisons become Jackson Pollock paintings of blood, corpses, and human bile. In short, Mother Russia Bleeds is an exercise in...
Dozens of games are added to the Steam store on any given day, and a lot of them are from small developers you've never heard of, selling low-priced games you'll probably ignore. Often, scattered among those many new titles are a few gems worth the...
Beyond that, this is a game that has simply swapped one set of clichés - the US-centric mean streets of Final Fight and Streets of Rage - for another: Soviet brutality and poverty. There is undeniably sport to be had here, but no redemption, either for the characters, the players or the genre.
You can play with up to four players, and the game will adjust difficulty accordingly. I only really got to experience it with three, but found a noticeable difference. You can revive your teammates with syringe charges, but also set each other up....
