No matter how you look at it this is still an immensely entertaining, challenging, and downright exciting VR shooter packed with content and is easily my new favorite multiplayer VR game for Quest. This should be in every Quest user’s library that enjoys shooters — hands down.

On top of that, two maps, as well as the option to use maps that were designed by the community, have been completely removed. The developer is trying to talk themselves out of the situation with the excuse that Onward (version 1.81) is still in Early Access - although EA doesn't officially exist on the Oculus platform. All we can do is hope that the missing features will come back in the future but, until then, PC players have every right to be angry.

Onward on Quest seems to keep all of the most important bits from the base game on PC VR. Gameplay is intense, and largely unaffected by the necessary cuts the studio had to make in order to shove the game onto Quest’s modest Snapdragon 835.
