Battlefield V delivers the series' finest single-player campaign yet, painting the horror of war from rarely seen perspectives. That tension carries through to the multiplayer, which has been tuned to hammer home your vulnerability in a firefight.

DLSS Tested: Unfortunately, DLSS was a feature that people were thinking would be the best of the RTX features, judging by the way Nvidia was selling it. The claims amounted to a free performance uplift thanks to the power of AI. But the reality is so far from this, it’s laughable.
Ray Tracing Performance: We genuinely hope Nvidia can continue to work on and optimize ray tracing to get more performance at no cost to visuals, because at the moment the technology still isn’t ready, not for gaming. We salute their efforts and we understand this is a first generation GPU to integrate such a complex rendering technique. But in terms of what you're going to buy tomorrow, ray tracing cannot be a key selling point for Nvidia’s RTX cards, a luxury bonus sure, but not something you should base a purchasing decision on.
DXR / RTX Performance: Everything we’ve seen from DXR demos suggest we’re facing a similar performance penalty to Battlefield V, for a similar small increase in quality. We’ll test those games with ray tracing as soon as we can, but we wouldn’t be holding out for anything better in future titles.
PC Graphics Performance: As before, those wanting to play Battlefield V at 1080p/60 fps in all of its glory you need nothing more than a GTX 970/1060, R9 390 or 570. Then at 1440p the Radeon Fury, Fury X, RX 580, GTX 980 Ti or GTX 1060 6GB will be required. Honestly, given how great the game looks that’s not a tall order. On that note, despite the still buggy DX12 implementation the game plays extremely well when using DirectX 11.
DICE and NVIDIA worked relatively quickly to address many of the issues of the initial RTX implementation in Battlefield V, including performance. That said, we still believe things will continue to evolve moving forward. NVIDIA's RTX technology is...
Overall, Battlefield V is a fine shooter to both behold and play: the way in which it sucks you deep into the full horror (and thrill) of a terrifyingly realistic rendition of World War II is simply magnificent. It provides everything a fan of the...
The Battlefield franchise seems to be in the midst of an identity crisis. Over the past couple of years (and entries), the series has hopped around all over the place. We've done futuristic war, revisited World War I, and even ventured to the world of...

Battlefield V offers incredible pace as it sidesteps into the hardcore realm with modest success. Maps are open and satisfactory for Conquest, albeit with design issues, and some modes are too linear and chaotic. These inconsistencies, along with...

The opening moments of Battlefield V show off a game at odds with itself. It begins with a montage of skirmishes on land and air that wax eloquent on the atrocities of World War 2 and its impact on humanity to the point of repulsion, marrying it with...
Like a fresh recruit, Battlefield V was clearly deployed into action without adequate preparation. And a variety of bugs, underdeveloped features, and placeholder menu screens remind you of that at nearly every turn. However, there's a great deal of raw...
