  1. Hey all, I have the chance to snap up 2 XFX GeForce 9600GT for just over 100 pounds.

My question is, is it worth it for me to replace my 8800 gtx with these 2 cards? will there be a majour increase in games or none at all?

I have an xfx 680i sli board
    3gb corsair dominator
    and a q6600 processor.

I would apreciate any comments ASAP because the offer wont be there long. Thanks ;)

    Hi Rab2140

Whilst the 9600GT is in fact a better card, using two together (i.e. SLI) requires a large power supply. Make sure you have a big enough power supply to run them efficiently. If you don't have a capable PSU, you'll have to add a further amount to 100 pounds in order to power your cards.

I cannot read. Please ignore my initial post.

The 9600GT SLI is far better than the 8800GT stand alone, yes .... but what was posted was the 8800 GTX. This is a better card than the 9600GT and therefore I agree with supersmashbrada about NOT purchasing.

Also I don't think the 9600GT cards use all that much power. Meanwhile an 8800GTX uses a ****ton. <no I don't have links to back me up because I don't care that much>
