You do understand that "300" is a heavily fictionalized adaptation of a graphic novel of the battle of Thermopylae and not a documentary. Don't you?

Please note I'm not knocking the pursuit of historical knowledge.

Some nice choreography in the battle scenes, but totally ahistorical. Take it as a piece of fiction (it was based on a graphic novel after all), but start equating it to history, no. The portrayal of the Persians was laughably ridiculous.

lol i second that but none the less, the movie was great.
the part where leonidous kicks the persian into the hole is very exaggerated and it's great. "THIS ...... IS ...... SPARTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

Will remember this movie for life. Til this day me and my friends still once in awhile scream out ah hu, it's somewhat like a war cry we use. lol.

Wonderful film though I wonder how fast moviegoers will tire of that particular style of filmmaking. It's worked with 300, Sin City and The Spirit but will fans be open to it come time for Sin City 2?
