Yes, i made the mistake of buying the 9600XT, although i returned it and got my 5700 ULtra, and i will say its one hell of a stable card, compared to the 9600XT, im keeping this :grinthumb

I've had both a 9700 Pro and a 9800 non pro and not had a single problem with either. My Asus Geforce3 was another matter though :S

How about a card that doesnt cost a whole nut and isnt obsolete in 6 months? component video outputs would also be nice.

I've owned several nVidia and ATI cards and to be honest, haven't had many problems with either. I think they're both stable cards and the biggest problem lies in other incompatilities, both hardware and software. They both make great cards.

i have had driver problems on my geforce4 ti4200. the computer would not boot into windows98se because the driver installed incorrectly and was causing a conflict. it took me a week to figure out what was going on. then when i was upgrading the machine to win2k, the card died and would only run at 640x480 at 8 bit color.

i also had some problems with my older radeon card as well. both ATi and Nvidia need to do a better job with stability and compatibility in my book.
