hi all, out of curiousity i was comparing 2 notebooks, namely acer aspire 6930, and 5935. due to my friend upgrade. he wanted to buy a new laptop that can play.
since im using 5930, i recommend him those lappy.

so, there are these 2 laptops, middle range, with "similar" configuration, but size and design wise, it is not similar. 5935 looks more interesting.

    nVidia GT130M, 1024MB DDR2
    nVidia 9600M GT, 512MB GDDR3

assuming both will have, ~ same config and running in 1366x768 resolution, which one would be better?

The GT130M is the better chip; not much of an increase performance-wise over the 9600M GT, but it is cooler-running and consumes less power. Both of those are important parameters for a notebook.

okay i see... since the one with GT130M is more expensive.

    how about the 512MB GDDR3 and 1024MB DDR2 doing?
if the 512MB is about the same performance-wise, maybe get that one.

In that case, I recommend going with the laptop with the 9600M GT.

I would go for 9600m gt. DDR 3 is faster than DDR2 and enough to play games.
