9700pro crashing

    I'm having some major problems with my ati 9700pro vid card...

    Every time i try to run most newer games it will play the games for a while then freeze up and stop responding to anything. i don't have any problems playing videos or any other thing on my system...just seems that games are not agreeing with the board.

    anyone with some tips on how to get it to go please let me know!
    I have tried every possible setting in the game to see if it will stabilize...but to no avail.


    sys specs:

    gigabyte 7VAXP
    ati 9700pro
    AMD 2600+ (not over clocked)
    1ghz DDR333
    x2 IBM deskstar 80gig HD
