A FIX..Internet Explorer gets "encounterd a problem" message when turned off

This easy fix applies if you already have non-AOL broadband such as COX and add AOL (BYOA) "Bring Your Own Accesss." After adding the AOL program you may get a pop-up message each time you close the Internet Explorer on COX (or your broadband provider) as follows: "INTERNET EXPLORER HAS ENCOUNTERED A PROBLEM AND NEEDS TO CLOSE"

I tried everything I could think of to eliminate this message including uninstalling AOL. The siimple fix to eliminate this bothersome pop-up is to go to VIEW -> TOOLBARS in the Cox (Broadband IE) and turn OFF the AOL Toolbar. Hope this helps someone.

it seems like you may have a corrupt file or incompatibility issue. to be sure why dont you visit the security and the web forum here

please be specific on the name "Aol program" and the error message contents.

it is entirely possible that the program is not even necessary!
