WInXP Pro SP3 I use "Abexo Free Registry Cleaner" to try and keep my registry in good condition. I use to never have any issues with this but last time I ran this and deleted the files it suggested to remove it caused my network settings to go crazy. I couldn't access the internet or ping anything. I restored the registry settings that it removed and it was then ok. Can anyone see what registry settings been removed within the attached file "220100127085744.zip" caused this problem. Thank you, Kind regards David
Registry cleaners are not recommended and by now, you know why. Uninstall the program, use system restore and pray, it'll work.
reply Hello, The file I have attached is what was deleted from the registry so I re-inserted those entries back into the registry and the PC is now running fine. I was hoping someone might be able to tell me what registry entries in the attached file are related to network...? Thank you, Kind regards David
I'll repeat. DO NOT use any registry cleaners. There is absolutely no gain achieved from using them and they may make your computer not bootable at all.
