About memory.. please help!

hi.. if anyone can help me w/ buying memory.. i would be soo happy.. here are the specs....Dell Dimension 8200 , Pent 4 , processor 2.0GHz. 512 MB PC800 , RDRAM .. I would like to double the memory .. so another 512 or for some reason my brother thinks i need to get two 256 sticks? .. If you can help I would be greatful.. I am not sure of the pin count.. .. how do i find that out? I dont want to buy dell memory if i can help it.. as it is way too high in price.. or am i stuck doing that?? thankssss..

You need to buy that Rambus or RDRAM in pairs, so your brother is right. If you have 512MB, you need another 2x256MB to make 1GB.
You'll also need to know if you want ECC (most likely) or Non-ECC RAM.

Kingston do only ECC RAM

Go to www.lavalys.com and get their free Everest Home.
Install and run that. Under 'Memory' it will tell you what you need to know.
