Ad-aware

I have been using the free version of Ad-aware for some time now and find it to be very useful, are there any major advantages of upgrading to the pro edition?

As long as you keep the free version up to date (Adaware SE 1.05 is the current one) you can save yourself the few quid.
Always do an online-update before you run it.
And always do it in combination with Spybot S&D. Same update-rule applies.

Most importantly, do NOT use M$ Internet Explorer, except for Windows Updates.

Use Mozilla Firefox instead.

I agree, there is no real reason to upgrade to PRO, unless you have some spare cash laying around, and if that's the case then I'll take some.

Pretty much what he said.

Try to avoid using IE whenever possible. Mozilla, Mozilla Firefox, Opera, etc. are all great internet browsers.

Also, I tell people to use the latest version of Ad-Aware along with Spybot S&D, just like realblackstuff said. Basically, you'll quickly find that Ad-Aware picks up stuff that Spybot S&D didn't catch, and vice versa.
