restart your computer

"open services.msc" from start-.run

in the list search for the service "windows image aqu.."

right click, properties, disable the startup type, and stop the service and restart the computer

Windows Image Acquisition (WIA)

Used for some scanners, web cams, and cameras. If, after disabling this service, your scanner or camera fails to function properly, enable this service by placing it into automatic.

@sent12b Please do not advise users just to disable services
Some are required for the normal operation of Windows
You have done this on multiple threads I see too ?

we are just checking if that service is corrupted and causing a problem.

i got this from one of the Microsoft knowledge base article

kim, what will be your last action if you don find a fix for any problem in your computer.

why your post is always against me?

I have always found a fix, it's just a matter of how much time we spend
On users computers, sometimes the time to spend fixing the fault may be longer than it is to re-install, in that case I quote re-install Windows

:)

Note: Normally I do not answer questions in members threads
I have made an exception just this once

I find I can "add" to your support

i don prefer reinstalling windows as users may have some important data files or program files which cannot be recovered if a installation is done
