Thank you for the TechRepublic referral kimsland. I now feel free to refer the TS members to other boards where I or others have created tips!

hi kritius,

I have followed your instructions to reset the router. but when i reconnect my router, i can't seemed to be able to connect to internet. My laptop could still detect both the LAN and wifi signal from the router but just no internet. i have tried logging into the admin page of the router and reset the settings to default and it still doesn't connect to internet.

Could it be something has gone wrong when i was carrying out the physical reset procedures of the router ?

thanks.

i think you need configure you router 8)
create wifi network.. etc. need help?

Hi all,

I have sorted my router eventually, the internet is working now again and i have run combofix and mbam and please find attached the reports and please advice if my laptop is still infected ?

Many Thanks.

In Mbam>> Trojan.TDSS in both Quarantine and System Restore>

Please delete from quarantine. We will drop the old restore point when through and set new clean one. In the meantime DON'T use System Restore or you will reinfect the system.

You need to clean up the old Java Entries:
Control Panel> Add/Remove Programs> uninstall all Java entries except v6u13.
then
Control Panel> Java> General tab> Temporary internet files> Settings> move slider all the way to the left> delete the TIF> Apply> OK

Delete the contents of the Recycle Bin.

Check the NetFramework entries in Add/Remove Programs. It looks like you may have updates or new entries going back several years. Check and see if there are old versions you can remove.

Can you update the AV without problem? Please do that and run a full system scan.
UPDATE and run Mbam on more time to make sure nothing else is lurking.

Attach logs from the AV and Mbam. If they are clean, we'll remove the cleaning tools.
