Its my understanding the W7 firewall is part of the OS & I know of no one that is using anything but it on their W7.
Not on W7,but I've used ZA & told it was bloated so I dumped it & went to PC Tools firewall plus which gave me sporadic problems so I went to Comodo & so far its been great.
    But,its your choice.

Yes W7 Firewall is part of the OS. Something that I had forgotten.
Everything is okay now. W7F is running, MSE is running, and everything is great.

Thanks everyone.I thought My PC was probably messed up, and I might have to bring it back to factory settings, which would mean I would have to re-download almost 1000 songs, from my CDs, and about 100 Youtube videos. But all I needed was an AVG uninstaller.Pc ir running faster ans better than ever I am a ;0) man..

I didn't know it was called the vendor's site. But that's where I downloaded AVG 2012 from. I no longer want to have anything to do with any version of AVG. Past Present, or Future. Thank you for sending the link anyway.

From your previous replies, I realized you didn't want AVG. My comment was in response to another post, not yours, looks like it has been deleted now. Anyway, that person posted a link to d/l AVG but it wasn't AVG's site. I think link of a reputable source should be posted.

Anyway, good to know things are back to normal for you. And might I suggest that you should backup your songs & videos, just in case.

A friend, from here at TS suggested that I use a Flashdrive, which reminded me that I already have, for my music. Now I need to get busy and do it for my videos Thanks for the post..

Hi, Just a quick thought, be sure to only have one firewall turned on at any one time, two will just try to block each other, and won't give any better security to your PC.
Also note that some of the Antivirus programs have a firewall included too, in that case with W7, in 'System and security', just turn off the Windows firewall.
Personally, since using W7, I have used Microsoft security essentials (MSE) and the W7 firewall. Not one problem on my pc whatsoever.

That's what I'm using now too. I used to insist on using things like Norton, Avast (AVG boo hiss ) PC Tools, Zone Alarm, anything but what came with the computer. Because, for some reason, I thought they would be better.
Now that I'm using MSE and W7 firewall. My computer is running as good, if not better, then it ever has. Shows you how much I know:) I know about only using one firewall thanks.
