avg spyware

    Unfortunately, yes, for the free versions. The paid system is faster, and more flexible as to when you schedule the scans.

    What do you mean exactly by forever?

    Obviously the more data you have on your hard drive the longer it`s going to take. On my computer a full AVG scan takes around 20 minutes.

    That is rather a long time.

    Have you checked your system for viruses/spyware lately?

    If not, I suggest you post a HJT log as per the instructions HERE. I`ll take a look and advise.

    We use AVG on nearly every WXP machine we service or repair. We find that AVG Antivirus takes about !8 to 22 minutes, but AVG Antispyware takes about 43 minutes on average.
