AVI files causes video freeze and crash

I found that every time I opened a folder or drive that had AVI (Divx/Xvid) files the screen would freeze with a jitter, crashing the system.

Only by unticking the folder option:

Tools/Folder options/View - "show pop up descriptions...."

the problem was solved. I miss this option as I find it very useful.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Divx and Xvid drivers and no change. Any clues??

System is ASUS P5RD1-V with 1GB ram running winXP SP3 and up to date updates.

Try to install K-Lite codec pack, might help...
