I've run NRT several more times to no avail. I tried running it in safe mode also and no go. I still have the pop up at boot and the 3 issues still in device mgr. Have you got any more ideas to try. will await further instructions.

Run OTL
  • Under the Custom Scans/Fixes box at the bottom, paste in the following

    Code:
    :OTL

    :Services

    :Reg
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\VirtualDeviceDrivers]
    "VDD"=-
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet003\Control\VirtualDeviceDrivers]
    "VDD"=-
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet004\Control\VirtualDeviceDrivers]
    "VDD"=-
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\VirtualDeviceDrivers]
    "VDD"=-

    :Files

    :Commands
    [purity]
    [emptytemp]
    [emptyflash]
    [Reboot]
  • Then click the Run Fix button at the top
  • Let the program run unhindered, reboot the PC when it is done
  • You will get a log that shows the results of the fix. Please post it.

Broni,
I ran the OLT scan with the info inserted in box. After reboot I now have a popup that states:

16 bit Windows Subsystem

SYSTEM\CurrentcontrolSet\Control\VirtualDeviceDrivers.VDD. Virtual Device Driver format in the registry is invalid. Chose "Close" to terminate the application.

2 options are "Close" or "Ignore"

OTL scan results:

First of all, go back to Device Manager and see, if you can delete those miniports now.

# Start Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe or Regedit.exe).

# Locate and select the following value:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\VirtualDeviceDrivers\VDD

# Right click on VDD, click Delete.

# Restart computer.

Go back to registry editor.
Navigate to:
Locate and select the following value:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\VirtualDeviceDrivers
Select (one click) VirtualDeviceDrivers.

On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click Multi-string Value.
Type VDD in the Value Name box, and then press ENTER.
Quit Registry Editor.

Restart computer

That last entry into the registry got rid of the popup error. So it boots without any errors now.

Still can't uninstall the miniports in device mgr though.

I still have not run those last scans you had listed as we ran into error messages and have been addressing them and the miniports.

Awaiting further instructions.

Thanks so much,
Rotten Rebel

Good news :)
Don't worry about those Device Manager entries.
They won't bother anything.

Go ahead with last steps....
