Ok, i have a dilema, i am deciding between 4 card(s) 2 of my options involve crossfire or SLI.

    (2) Crossfire Overclocked X1600XT

    (2) SLI XFX 6800XT

    (1) XFX 7900GS

    (1) X1900GT

I dont want the future option for SLI or Crossfire if i get the 7900GS or X1900GT, so please dont use that in your reasoning of why i should get one of those cards.

I'd have to say get the 2 6800s in SLI. Its probably better than a 7900GS and definately better than a X1900GT.

X1900GT beats a 7900GS :p , but the 6800XT's hvae 8 pixelpipelines only. I see many benchmarks proving me right, the X1900GT>7900GS. And it only has 128mb...

I added 2 X1600XT's in crossfire, which will be probably what ill get.

    Bump, second opinion mb?

Yea.. go with that. They should be good.

I don't know, but X1600 series cards aren't very good. Probably, you can strech your budget a little, and get a X1900XT, and it should beat two X1600's.

X1600 475mhz core clock isnt that bad IMO, or is there something about them,
  9. wolfram TechSpot Paladin

they have only four real pixel pipelines, and I think that the rest are shader units, or something like that. They do NOT have 12 real pipelines.

Idk, but i am pretty sure there are 12....

Ok, X1600XT crossfire.....Sucks, i found some benchmarks, and they show the 7900GT to be playable in FEAR at 1600x1200 4xAA 16xAF, so im getting the X1900GT because its like 7900GT=X1900GT

Boy, I don't know. The Gigabyte card looks better to me. Better cooling and better bundled games (Quake 4 and Serious Sam). Leadtek has Serious Sam and something called SpellForce 2? I would feel more comfortable with GB card, better name.

Leadtek has been around for what seems like FOREVER Nick. I would buy a leadtek over a gigabyte, but gigabyte has been around for a long time too. Gigabyte may have been around for longer, but Leadtek have been doign videocards from back in the geforce 2 days, maybe before.. I wasnt into computers before then (at age 12..)

Im not buying either! I just stated that it was cheap.
  18. MetalX TechSpot Chancellor

SpellForce 2 is actually a great game... not some cheapie game that was made in Bangladesh or something.

Lol, im not gettin either of those cards tho.
