just wondering what dvd burner is best for backing up dvds?

i mainly use dvd fab and dvd shrink burning with an LG writer but latly i have noticed some of the back ups skip quite a bit and i assume its the burner, so time to buy a new one.

    any suggestions?

Any of the Sony-NEC drives (branded as Optiarc AD-7200 series/7500 series), the Samsung SH-S223C/F, I use Optiarc and Lite On - Lite On's are generally rebranded LG Philips drives but have error reporting capability and make excellent rippers.

DVD technology is pretty much ubiquitous - you'll find most of the name brand drives extremely reliable.
