BF2 Problems

Hello. I'm running an Asus a8n-32 SLI Deluxe mobo, Thermaltake ATX 12.V 2.0 550W Power Supply, Corsair XMS 1gig Dual Channel ( x2 512MB ) Ram, Western Digital Caviar 250GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0/s Hardrive and an AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ dual core processor.

The problem is: BF2 loads very slow when starting a game, when playing for probably about 2 hours it minimizes and goes off. I run also a cable connection and built this PC for almost a year.

The slow loading is due to only having 1 gig of ram. BF2 really lives for 1.5-2.0 gigs of ram. This will dramatically improve load time as well as almost totally remove all the little "pauses" in game when you hop from say a tank to AA guns, etc.etc. It makes piloting a jet also much more sane.

As far as the two hour thing... I'd suspect heat being a factor there. Ensure you have good case cooling that creates an airflow through the case- usually facilitated by having front and rear fans oriented for a flow (i.e. front fans sucking air inward for intake, rear fans blowing air outwards for exhaust).
