Bios help windows 2000

i would like to know how to get into my bios to check and see if certain things are there because i want to reformat and i cannot because a volume is locked

the OS has no affect on getting into the BIOS. Generally you will see a msg at the initial POST screen that says "press x to enter setup" where x=whatever key is used by your particular motherboard. Usually keys like F1, F2, ESC, or DEL are used to enter the BIOS setup.
