Blank screen after startup

Try this

Try deleting every file that you downloaded well the files that you downloaded before the black screen thing. I had the same trouble and i was about to try and do all that stuff you was tlaking about. but instad i delated all the files that i downloaded it turns out that was the trouble

I work for a call center and I think I have the answer for you. Unfortunenately you may have to "F" disk and reinstall. Have you tried loading from the XP install disk as the OS instead of the hard drive? I ran into a similar situation but the screen came up in safe mode unlike yours. It was an incompatability with Nortan anti-virus.
