Blue Screen on Startup, Safe mode doesn't work either

Hey,
When I attempt to boot Windows XP Professional with SP 2 on my computer I get a blue screen with this error:
Stop: 0x0000008E (0xC000000E, 0x8056E2A2, 0xEEC5B96C, 0x00000000)
immediately after it loads to windows.
Safe mode comes up with a black screen that seems to list a bunch of files and freezes.
Any ideas?

do a virus kill with these
ewido
spybot search and destroy
hijack this
microsoft anti-spyware
they are all free
you can google them and find the download sites.
