Bypass Windows 2000

  1. Hi, I was recently given an old laptop with 2000, and it worked OKish... but then I changed some of my user settings trying to improve its performance and decided I may as well set a password. Now I've forgotten it *loser and can't log on. I tried safe mode, but that didn't work because I had made my user the administrator. I also downloaded a program to reset the password and put it on a memory stick, thinking i could change the boot settings, but I'm not quite sure how. I'm sure there's a simple(ish) solution. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!
