    Hi,

I have a 5.1 sound card and 5.1 lg speakers but i cant get it to produce genuine 5.1 sound, in the software i have this option is greyed out and all the speakers play the same sound. For genuine 5.1 the rear speakers should play background noises?

You would need a 5.1 source to begin with, like a DVD or 5.1 game.

Im refering to using a dvd. All the sound from the speakers is the same.

Which DVD Software are you using now?

Have you make sure your speaker setup is set to "5.1 speaker mode"?

The DVD player programs that come with the drives only have 2 channel sound. You have to upgrade to the full version to get multi-channel sound.
