AMD in new system

Thinking about this chip for a gaming/media server. Are the new 939's due in a couple weeks gonna force the price of this chip down much? If this release is close to the new round of gfix cards, I might as well wait for both, no?

From what the rumours and leaked info suggests, the 939 boards should be out next month sometime...

And to quote a friend from another forum:
MuFu from HWC
Well the X800 Pro (launched next week) should be about the same speed as the 6800 Ultra. Plus it'll actually ship next week, which is good news. The XT should be quite a bit faster (having 16 pipes vs. 12, of course) and I would assume wipe the floor with nVidia's fastest offering where it matters. nVidia are launching another high end card - probably based on an NV40 respin - to compete with this - "6850 Ultra" perhaps?!

xp 64bit ATI driver

What became of the XP 64bit ATI driver?

I just bought a Athlon 3400+ laptop. And have XP 64bit Edition installed.
I downloaded the beta driver from ATI.
But I get an error when trying to install:
Code:
Thunk.exe
INF file missing
Then open reboot:
Code:
The ATI Control Panel failed to initalize because no ATI driver is installed, or ATI driver is not working properly. The ATI Control Panel will now exit.
Any ideas?

Thanks.
