I've managed to sort most of the probs out by starting again and reinstalling bios then chipset then netoworks first PSA DX diag.

The only yellow ? I have is against something called scan.

The only prob I'm having is downloading xp SP3, every file I download errors with corrupt by the time it starts to unpack. I have an iso download and will try that option next. I think I got it covered now thanks for all your help its been much appreciated. You can close this thread if you want.

Do the Windows Repair tool again, and then try SP3. :)
