Cdd5263 drive in dell won't recognize disk

Anyone know why my cd/dvd drive has quit recognizing a cd. When I click properties it shows that disk is full. I cannot access any cd's, but can play dvd's. Do I need a new drive?

You could try a new cable first. You may want to try a known working DVD/CD unit from a friend before you buy a new one. Be sure that's it. Good Luck.
