marissa mayer auctioning lunch yahoo apple tim cook

If Apple CEO Tim Cook can raise more than $600,000 for a coffee date, how much would a lunch date with Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer fetch? We’ll find out for sure in about two weeks as the upbeat CEO is auctioning off a one hour lunch “experience” at the company’s headquarters in Sunnyvale, California.

CharityBuzz is once again running the celebrity auction which put an estimated value of $25,000 on the date. There’s still 15 days left in the auction and already the current bid is at $57,500 – money that will go towards the Aspire East Palo Alto Charter School, a K-6 public charter school that’s dedicated to preparing all students for success in college and beyond.

The only question that remains really is, how high will the bidding go?

If you recall, an anonymous bidder recently shelled out a whopping $610,000 to have coffee with Tim Cook. That auction resulted in 86 total bids and was valued at just $50,000 by CharityBuzz. The winner was allowed to bring along one guest but all parties were required to sign a nondisclosure agreement and agree to a security screening.

The fine print on Mayer’s auction notes that the auction is only valid for one person. The winning bid cannot be resold or reauctioned and it expires one year from the close of bidding. As with the previous auction, the winner will be subject to a security screening.

Any bets on how high the auction could go? Do you think a date with Mayer will bring more than a date with Cook?

A date with a married, nearly 40 year old mother..

People actually pay for this? What do they expect to get out of it? business contacts? a charitible donation?

Surely not sex.. :p

Yep. Usually cougars pay you, if you are good, not the other way around. There must be a hidden agenda... :)

Just in case anyone was wondering if sexism was alive and well, here's your answer. No one who knows me would ever call me politically correct, but c'mon guys.

And in the spirit of correctness, she's neither old enough nor single enough to be a cougar. She's simply 'taken'. :)

Been there done that with a well off married 40 yr old only not well known like her. She does look like she would be fun for a night though just saying.

It's a lunch date, why is everyone talking about sex?!

Clearly just a PR thing and its a little silly if you ask me. Since everyone already said it, obviously a much better use of money would be to hire an escort?

Wow... sexist crowd. One thing is for sure. She is rich (and smart) enough to pay for all of us to be her b.tch. Just saying. Besides, she is a lot cuter than Warren Buffet and Tim Cook combined.
