Yes. Just make sure you set the jumpers appropriately.

How do i make sure lol. at this point im plugin it in like randomly
  3. mailpup TechSpot Special Forces

If you do it randomly, you risk one or both not working. Start by setting the hard drive as master and the optical drive as slave. If that gives you trouble, try setting them both to cable select.

hey would there be a noticeable difference if i got the AMD Phenom 9650 2.3GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache 2MB L3 Cache Socket AM2+ 95W Quad-Core Processor VS the AMD Athlon II X4 620 Propus 2.6GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM3 95W Quad-Core previously recommended to me in this thread? and will the other processer be compatible with my mobo?

    I don't know how much difference you'll notice but the Athlon II X4 620 Propus 2.6GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM3 95W Quad-Core would be better overall, I think.

The only advantage the Phenom 9650 holds is the L3 cache which the Athlon II X4 620 doe not have. Higher clock speed + L3 cache does benefit gaming. The Phenom 9650 costs $109.99. The Phenom II X3 720 is available for less than $10 more. It has a higher L3 cache than the Phenom 9650 and a much higher clock speed. I would suggest that you look into the X3 720 or else stick with the Athlon II X4.

the Phenom II also has a faster HT speed and better instruction sets, as well as better OC potential.

    I like the Phenom II X3 720 ^^.

You should also check out the possibility to unlock the unused cores in the Phenom II X3 720 and Phenom II X2 550 BE. Getting a nice quad-core out of those chips is a nice possibility.
