Cheap Mobo Install Problems

I've just bought an ECS 848P-A7 and I'm getting the following errors (along with a lot of beeping) on boot:

BIOS ROM checksum error

Detecting floppy drive A media...
Drive A error. System halt



My only drives are a new Seagate HD and a DVD combo drive. Thanks for any help in advance.

ECS is absolute crap. just take it back and get a board greater in quality (gigabyte, asus, msi are all good). your board is probably busted, and getting another ESC product isn't a wise move.

Go into the BIOS of that mobo, and tell it you do NOT have a floppy-drive.
Even junk like yours should have a setting for that!
