    Something is not right.
Do you have any restore points listed.

Can you also check if you can access Security Center?

    1. Log on to Windows as an administrator.
    2. Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click System Restore.

    3. On the Welcome to System Restore page, click to select the Restore my computer to an earlier time option, and then click Next.

    4. On the Select a Restore Point page see if any restore point are listed.
    Do nothing else.

I can access my Security Center. It seems normal.
I tried to list restore point, when I clicked next button ( step 3), the message pop up said system restore has been turned off. I went to check control panel->system->systemrestore tap, the "Turn off systemrestore" check box is checked! ( but yesterday, everytime I restart computer, the check box is not checked. ), I uncheck it. and list the restore point, there is only one item, dated today "1:49pm system checkpoint", which is about the time when I unchecked that check box.
I amgoing to try to check that checkbox and restart computer and see what happens.

It works right now. I put the check mark in the check box, then restart computer, the check mark would be in it, I remove the check mark, restart the computer, the check mark would not be in it. I list the restore point again, there is only one item, dated today but later time. the older item is no longer exits.
but why yesterday it could not keep the check mark in the check box?
    should I run FSS.exe again?
