Computer infected

  1. Hi again all, thanks to BlindDragon, I was able to clean my sons' computer of a very nasty pair of rootkits. Well now my moms computer somehow got a virus either from HSN, Aol, or MSN. I followed the preliminary malware cleaning instructions, and attached are the 3 logs requested. Hopefully, I found it in time before any havoc could begin, and to be safe, my mom changed all her PW and acct info from a clean workstation immediately following the discovery of the virus.

Name of the virus was: TR/dldr.vb.vpg

    Hi :

Your Mom's computer appears to have at least 2 different "Versions" of Sun's
Java ; I saw the latest "Version" there, but it appears a very old "Version"
( "j2re1.4.2_03") is actually the One "running". That "j2re1.4.2_03" should be uninstalled . In addition, I saw an outdated Version of Adobe Reader, a serious
security risk . Recommend you uninstall it and "replace" it with the safer "Foxit
    Reader" from www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/rd_intro.php .
