Computer/motherboard manufacturer

  1. Hi all,

    I have heard of somethings like computer manufacturer and motherborad manufacurer. For example some time ago, when I had problem with my desktop PC, some asked me what's your computer manufacturer and motherborad manufacurer?
    what's the difference between these two please?

    Computer manufacturer Is most of the time is Dell, Hp,Compaq, Ausu are a few.
    Motherboard manufacturer . Asus, Gigbyte, Asrock. Msi, Are a few. This is what they are referring to. When they ask you those Questions .

    So for a desktop PC only the motherboard manufacturer is questionable, yes?

    No. It depends on who built the PC. If it was a manufacturer, such as HP, Dell, Acer, etc., then we need to know which manufacturer built it because you need to go to their respective websites for drivers.

    If it was self-built or custom built, then you need to go to the motherboard manufacturer for drivers.
