Control panel problems

when going into CP there is an icon in there (1st on the list) Which is just a blank "unnkown" extention icon, no name and doesn't open anything. The location it points to is blank. AND I CAN'T GET RID OF IT!!! Nothing helps, reg cleaners, other problem fixers, spyware scanners, virus scanners.... You name it I've tried it... Please end my sleepless nights.....

is there any REAL problem being solved, or just the visual annoyance of the do-nothing icon?

I beleive I read that is (icon is a yellow folder ) some glitch in Outlook X.Mine disappeared , I have no idea how,don't remember when it left.. I had gotten used to it because it doesn't seem to do anything.Might be that a Windows update takes care of it!!!!

Ok.... So I'm shallow... I'm just hoping that it's not a result of another problem... One I haven't found yet???

Get Powertoys Tweakui for XP from MS.
In there you can set which icons to show (or not) in CP.

Thanks.... Fixed the problem!! It was the Bluetooth control panel dupicate that caused the problem!!! Bad Dog!!!! TA
