I have been trying to convert the MPEG2 recordings from my Nebula DVB-T card to AVI using VirtualDub-MPEG2. I am using Xvid codec. No matter what I do I cannot get the recording to keep the correct 16:9 aspect ratio. I have gone into the Video/Compression/Xvid settings then selected the correct aspect ratio. I have tried both pixel and display aspect ratio options.
But the finished file is always 4:3. The source is definately the correct apect ratio. My media players play the source in 16:9 and Youtube uploads of the MPEG2 originals are also correct.
How can I convert to AVI and keep the correct aspect ratio?
Also, is there a better option than VirtualDub-MPEG2? Can anyone recommend a really good alternative?
Thanks,
