if i missed this, my apologies, Kimsland probably covered this, but did you try clearing the cmos? and going into the bios and make sure it didnt get scrambled (ie voltages) from the psu problems and shutting off while in the bios? i have had that happen to me.

I tried that, It won't boot up without a cpu fan.

Nope the CMOS clear didn't help.

Also the HDD light stays on...

Sometimes the keyboard lights come on, and stay on, sometimes they don't light up.

So it won't turn on and POST without the CPU fan either?

    And Bios reset properly

And you followed the guide including benchtest, with everything out

Then yes it sounds like hardware
Normally I'd say Motherboard or Power Supply, but you may need a 2nd opinion

I hold a screw driver in between the two terminals for 30 sec.

The same screwdriver i used for the benchtest to power on.

    The benchtest was preformed twice.

I went down to Onboard graphics, CPU, PSU, MoBo and keyboard.

    Unsucceful.

    Thank you.

When I have had this issue, ie nothing works!

I remove all components from the Motherboard, blow out all dust, and then spray it with Circuit Board Cleaner (this stuff is expensive too, about $10 a can)
Then leave to dry (as per the recommendations on the cleaner) Sometimes up to a day or two.
Then put the CPU (and thermal greece back on)
Put 1 stick of Ram in
Plug in Monitor and Power (only)
    Then turn on

    Maybe fixed for $10 ;)

I blew it al out, reapplied thermal grese, all mentioned...

    It didn't beep.

Is there any way to test the MoBo or CPU without another CPU/MoBo?

Okay... my computer would turn the fans, then i connected the moniter to the onboard graphics, and it won't even turn on(fans)...

Then if I leave it be, it will turn the fans on.

It seems like the longer it stays off, the farther it gets through post.

It stayed off, for 2 months and it boots for 3 days.

    hi again Skelman,
have you tried replacing the battery on the mobo? i have had it happen that when the battery was dying it changes, or wont hold bios settings. just a thought

Try removing the RAM and re-seating it in the other slots, using one DIMM at a time. Also, try the RAM by itself in another machine if possible. Try re-seating the processor again. As kimsland said, it could still be a problem with this PSU also. It could be any of those things and the only way to find out for sure is to test each component individually.

It is not the RAM; it should beep when there is no RAM inserted, no beeping.

I've narrowed it down to CPU or MoBo as the problem.

The battery is fine, I replaced it with a sure working one, it didn't help...

Also the CPU was outside of the MoBo for 2 months on a desk.

The CMOS battery i just replaced, it had no change...

The computer; however, mysteriously turns off in about 30 secs, then won't turn on for a day...

The DVD-Drive Keeps on flashing its lights in a pattern, making a sound... (Beep-oop, Doot...Doot, Beep-oop...)

The HDD light stays on, until shutdown...

I hate to have all my files and a 3.0ghz PC laying around.

    I am stuck, please help!

After reading through the entire topic, the only thing I can see that would be the problem is the motherboard or the PSU. If you're sure it's not the PSU, that leaves the motherboard as the culprit.

I'm gonna get an equivalent MoBo for my B-Day,

From a fellow gamming enthusiast, same one I tested the PC at.

Thank you for all your help!
