I bought my laptop about a year ago. It is equipped with i7 Q740, quad core with hyper threading.
In theory, and when new, in the task manager, under Performance, should show, and did show 8 cores or processors.
But recently, it went down to only 4 cores.
Is there an option or feature where I can turn it back on to 8 cores?

    Many Thanks.

Check your BIOS settings to see if hyperthreading is turned off/disabled.

Hi bbearren, I went into the bios, the only thing I found, and thought useful, and changed was; under "ADVANCED", "INTEL VIRTUALIZATION TECHNOLOGY", I changed from disabled to enabled.
But that didn't help my problem.
