Hi all,

I currently have a AMD anthlon 64x2 Dual Core Processor 4200+ 2.21GHz.
I am going to upgrade to 4GB DDR from 2GB.

By looking at the site at the bottom I have two options for upgrading;

AMD Athlon 64 FX FX-62 2.8GHz.

or

AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ 2.6GHz

as taken from cpu-upgrade.com which shows you all compatible CPU's for each monthboard.

can anyone give me any advice as to which one is best? will i need another fan?

the FX-62 is the superior CPU. your stock AMD 64 HSF will work with it, unless you are planning to overclock it.

Im not planning on overclocking it.... will my exisiting cpu fan be ok? will i need to update any drivers for this to work?

you need to check your motherboard CPU support list. if it does support it, you well may need a bios update.
