DDERR_Genric Error

Trying to play SWAT 3 on a toshiba laptop, everytime I start it up I get the error message "DDERR_GENERIC" appear and was wondering how I can sort this out. I am pretty new to computers so don't know too much. I have an S3 Savage /IX w/MV video driver for it and have installed Directx. I'm running on Windows ME. Any help at all would be really appreciated.

I don't know the answer (probably be fixed with a patch, a reinstall or a driver update) but I would get rid of Windows ME if I was you. Its rubbish.
